It Started with Lunch
I met Sheila on Wednesday as we normally do, to pray for her friends and other students at Babson College, my Alma Mater.
No sooner had we finished praying for one of her friends, “Amanda”, when she walked up. This petite young woman who appeared to have it all together told us the story of her life and it became readily apparent that she didn’t. As she fidgeted with the straw from her drink, she talked about her struggles, not only with academics but also with her relationships with others. When she finished sharing, I asked if I could tell her about Jesus. She agreed.
This is what I like to do: listen to others tell me their stories and then tell them about Jesus.
At the Hub of the Universe
I live in the Hub of the Universe. Boston was first called this in 1858 and I tend to agree with the truth behind Boston’s arrogant moniker.
Every day on campus, I’ll be meeting potential world leaders at Harvard, MIT, Babson or one of the other 46 schools in Boston. Through these schools have come president George W. Bush, newscaster Diane Sawyer, and Pepsi’s CEO Roger Enrico, to name just a few world changers.
Imagine if each of the 330,000 college students heard the saving message of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and learned how to live that out daily. The entire world could be changed!
And with your help, we can change lives forever
Would you like to change the world? To hope to have an impact, I’ll need help in two ways.
First and foremost, I need prayer. It sounds like the missionary thing to say, but I really do need your prayers. Would you pray that:
I would stay in the Word.
I would listen effectively.
People would be open to hear the gospel.
I would communicate the truth of God’s Word clearly.
Secondly, I need financial support. Campus Crusade for Christ is a not for profit organization without any central funds for paying salaries and ministry expenses. Each individual staff member (like me) is supported solely by the generous contributions of people like you.
